NV1 validators in new electric buses operated by MZK Tomaszów Mazowiecki
In July 2026, together with the delivery of two new Solaris electric buses for Miejski Zakład Komunikacyjny w Tomaszowie Mazowieckim Sp. z o.o., we had the opportunity, in cooperation with Pixel, to equip the vehicles with NV1 validators enabling passengers to purchase tickets using a contactless payment card.
The validators work together with Pixel’s XC-6 onboard computer. Based on timetable data and the route currently being operated, the device automatically switches to the appropriate fare zone – M, I or II – and presents passengers with the relevant ticket options.
At the same time, the NV1 also functions as a traditional ticket validator, allowing passengers to validate paper tickets using the print format applicable in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. As a result, a single device supports both modern ticket purchases with contactless payment and the existing paper ticketing system.
Along with the validators, we also delivered the MTM system for central device management, as well as ticket inspection devices with a dedicated application enabling efficient ticket verification during inspections.
We hope that, as the fleet continues to be modernised and renewed, the system will gradually be extended to additional MZK Tomaszów Mazowiecki vehicles.
The functions and operating logic of the validator software used in this project are presented in the videos available in the following playlist:
