New Irizar buses for MPK Kraków with Beesset software
On 20 May 2026, 22 new Irizar buses joined the fleet of Miejskie Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacyjne S.A. in Kraków. As part of a project carried out jointly with Pixel, Beesset acted as a subcontractor responsible for adapting and further developing the onboard device software to meet the requirements of MPK Kraków and the Public Transport Authority.
Our work focused primarily on preparing a new GUI version for the ticket validators, as well as developing the logic for handling different types of media and tickets used within Kraków’s public transport system.
The validator software supports, among others:
✅ traditional paper tickets,
✅ Kraków City Card (KKM),
✅ Małopolska Agglomeration Card (MKA).
The validators installed in the new vehicles communicate with the Trapeze onboard computer system, now Ebblo, via an API implemented by us. This allows the devices to receive the information required from the onboard system to correctly handle ticketing processes and passenger services.
An example of how the validator works with the latest GUI is shown in the video below:
The scope of our work was not limited to the ticketing system. Beesset was also responsible for delivering a new version of the central PxRSS software, used to manage recordings from Pixel’s onboard bus video recorders.
