Contactless payments on public transport in Zakopane – another deployment involving Beesset
March 2026 marked another deployment of our software in public transport. A ticket purchasing system based on contactless payments, together with an electronic ticket inspection solution, was launched in selected public transport vehicles in Zakopane.
As part of our cooperation with Pixel, we delivered software for “TESKO” Tatrzańska Komunalna Grupa Kapitałowa Sp. z o.o., running on NV1 validators as well as on devices used by ticket inspectors.
The NV1 validators deployed in the project allow passengers to purchase tickets directly on board and pay contactlessly using a payment card, smartphone or smartwatch. At the same time, the devices retain the ability to validate traditional paper tickets, allowing both methods of using public transport to operate in parallel.
The validator also communicates with Pixel’s XC-6 onboard computer, forming part of the vehicle’s integrated onboard system. Along with the validators, we also deployed software for ticket inspection devices, enabling efficient ticket verification during inspections.
The launch of the system in the first vehicles marks the beginning of a broader modernisation of Zakopane’s ticketing system. According to TESKO, electronic validators are to be gradually installed in additional buses as well, eventually replacing older devices that allow passengers to purchase tickets with cash.
