Clean Transport Zone Management System

As part of our product portfolio, we offer a comprehensive IT system supporting the management of Clean Transport Zones (CTZ), from vehicle verification and driver applications, through exemptions and payments, to centralised entitlement management, reporting, and integration with external devices.

The solution consists of a driver portal (http://sct.zdmk.krakow.pl/) and an advanced back-office system designed for the zone operator. Both components work together in real time, creating a single environment for managing the entire CTZ access process.

Driver Portal

The portal allows drivers to independently check whether their vehicle meets the requirements applicable within the zone and, if necessary, complete the relevant procedure online.

Users can, among other things:

  • check whether a vehicle is authorised to enter the CTZ,
  • submit an application under one of the available exemptions,
  • register a journey to a medical facility,
  • pay for entry into the zone (for vehicles that do not meet the requirements set out in the applicable resolution),
  • check the status of a submitted application,
  • if no positive decision has been issued, use an alternative option, such as paying for entry or registering a visit to a medical facility.

The system can support different charging models, including hourly, daily, and subscription-based fees, while payments can be processed through an integrated payment service provider.

Central Back-Office System

The back-office system provides zone operator staff with comprehensive support for administrative processes related to the operation of the CTZ.

The system enables, among other things:

  • processing applications and payments submitted through the portal and internal tools,
  • maintaining a central vehicle register, including a whitelist of vehicles authorised to enter the zone,
  • importing data from external sources,
  • payment processing and monitoring,
  • managing communication with users,
  • managing content published on the portal,
  • processing notifications of journeys to medical facilities,
  • handling payments, refunds, and settlement files,
  • generating reports and statistics,
  • managing facilities and staff at Resident Service Points.

Integrations and Central Data Register

An important element of the solution is its ability to handle large datasets containing vehicle information and to integrate with external systems.

In the Kraków deployment, the system works with the Central Register of Vehicles, containing approximately 32 million records, providing data import, updates, and instant search capabilities.

Reporting and Zone Operation Monitoring

The system provides tools for ongoing analysis of CTZ operations. Back-office users can generate, among other things, incremental reports, daily reports, current status statistics, and user activity reports.

This makes it possible to monitor, among other metrics, the number of vehicles checked, applications submitted and processed, entry fees paid, and notifications related to specific exemptions.

Deployment Example – Clean Transport Zone in Kraków

One example of our solution in operation is the system supporting the Clean Transport Zone in Kraków, which covers approximately 59% of the city’s area. The driver portal was launched on 8 December 2025.

The scale of system usage during the first weeks of operation demonstrates its capabilities. According to data as of 26 January 2026, the system had processed:

  • 1,697,899 vehicle searches,
  • 106,543 submitted applications, including 73,950 approved applications,
  • 276,539 entry fee payments, including 27,347 monthly subscriptions,
  • 16,814 notifications of journeys to medical facilities.

By 26 September 2026, these figures had increased to:

  • 5,269,045 vehicle searches,
  • 167,410 submitted applications, including 120,756 approved applications,
  • 2,416,687 entry fee payments, including 126,200 monthly subscriptions,
  • 151,233 notifications of journeys to medical facilities.

The video materials below demonstrate the operation of the driver portal in Kraków:

The system combines a resident and driver portal, vehicle register, application and exemption management, payments, reporting, configuration, and integration with external devices and systems within a single environment.

Thanks to its modular architecture, the solution can be adapted to the specific rules of a given Clean Transport Zone, including its charging model, catalogue of exemptions, and administrative processes.

IT system for Kraków’s Clean Transport Zone

At the beginning of December 2025, in cooperation with representatives of Kraków’s Public Transport Authority (ZTP) and the Kraków Municipal Roads Authority (ZDMK), we launched an IT system supporting the operation of Kraków’s Clean Transport Zone. The zone covers 59% of the city’s area, reflecting the operational scale of the project. A key element of […]
