\ud83d\udce3 As the year draws to a close, it has brought us several interesting and ambitious projects which, as always, we managed to deliver on time \ud83d\ude0a\u203c\ufe0f We will probably write about some of them in January, once they go live, while others will have to remain under wraps a little longer \ud83e\udd2b. Today, however, we would like to share a deployment completed close to home \u2013 in the City of Bia\u0142ystok<\/strong> \ud83e\udd73.<\/p>\n

On 18 December 2023<\/strong>, together with PIXEL<\/strong>, we launched a comprehensive solution consisting of several modernised components:<\/p>\n

\u27a1\ufe0f Electronic ticketing system<\/strong>,
\u27a1\ufe0f Passenger counting system<\/strong>,
\u27a1\ufe0f Dynamic passenger information and fleet management system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

From the passenger\u2019s perspective, the deployment resulted in the installation of 900 NV1 electronic validators<\/strong> \u2013 www.kasownik.info<\/a> \u2013 on Bia\u0142ystok Public Transport buses, providing the following functions:<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Support for the MTT\/Pay-as-You-Go tariff<\/strong> for contactless payment cards, with automatic calculation of the most advantageous fare at the end of the day (more about the solution: https:\/\/biletomaty.bialystok.pl\/#section-mtt<\/a>),<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Support for the Known Fare<\/strong> model, allowing passengers to purchase a ticket selected on the screen using either a contactless payment card or the e-wallet on the BKM city card,<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Support for all existing functions of the Bia\u0142ystok City Card<\/strong>, including the e-wallet, Check In \u2013 Check Out tariff, and collection of tickets purchased through the passenger portal (more about the BKM card: https:\/\/komunikacja.bialystok.pl\/?page=e-karta<\/a>),<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Preparation of the device to read 2D codes<\/strong> from external ticketing applications as well as QR codes printed by mobile ticket vending machines,<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Display of real-time information<\/strong> on the validator screen while idle, including the vehicle\u2019s current route and actual transfer options at upcoming stops,<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Integration with Pixel\u2019s XC-6 onboard computer<\/strong> for device locking, self-diagnostics and timetable data,<\/p>\n

\u2611\ufe0f Integration with the Inspektor<\/strong> ticket inspection application, the www.ekarta.bialystok.pl<\/a><\/strong> portal, MTM<\/strong> management software and the SECAM electronic ticketing system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The installed validators extend the existing sales network built around Pixel\u2019s mobile ticket vending machine system, launched more than three years earlier.<\/p>\n

The acquiring bank for the project is Bank Pekao S.A.<\/strong>, while APDU<\/strong> supplied the technology for the payment application running on unattended EMV terminals, including an extension supporting the city card.<\/p>\n

Attached are several screenshots of the GUI.<\/p>\n
